Summer lovin

Tell me I am not the only one with that Grease song in my head now!!! Anyone who knows me knows that I have been looking forward to summer and our days at the pool..for many reasons. One big one being the great, big, long nap that follows pool days!!! I have not been disappointed so far!!

The only sunscreen that doesn't make his face break out has a slight tendency to make him look a little purple!!!

Anytime he would get into a lounge chair I would crack up thinking "Yeah, like you need to work on your tan"!!! Kiddo is already super dark and any slight color I have going on is instantly put into check when I get next to him!!!

Zoo and park time!

I am just now getting caught up on my posting..these are from when Aric and Amber were here visiting. It was such a busy time when they were here and if you have not noticed I have had some free time to post this week!! My in-laws are in Paris this week so I work the weekends since my MIL watches Charlie..that leaves me off Mon-Fri...nice!! Since they are gone and missing the grand kids I have been posting 2 times a day for them..so the usual posting will resume when they get home!!! Anyway, this is from the park and Zoo visit a few weeks ago!

When these 2 are together..there is trouble near. I had just gotten on to them for releasing all the "critters" that Sage and Noah had caught in their critter cages..

Love how the girls look way to cool to be in this picture!

No one was injured..at this time at least!

Ada..always a mother hen.. and getting to a great age to help us watch them!

How is she 9 already..
I mean really..I know I am biased, but come on...Look at Miss Kirkley..she is the cutest thing

I could not love Sage's expression anymore in this picture!! It must sum up how she felt at the end of the day or how she felt to be riding by me!!! We were told to make a crazy face...way to leave me hanging Sage!!!!

Have I mentioned that thumb sucking babies are now one of the cutest things EVER to me!

So jealous at how much Noah and Sage love Bradley more then me..I should be used to it by now, but I'm not!

Tormenting the birds...again!
He gets a little braver each time and is now full on grabbing them..and causing some feathers to be, um, misplaced..

Alicia and her nieces joined us at the Zoo...love how chill the kids look!

Brady and Charlie checking out the monkeys..this is actually from a visit a few days before Aric and Amber got here....Still loving our Zoo passes!!
Mom and the boys..
Still not sure if mine got that it was a fake lizard!

Shower much..

We have had the small problem lately of over bathing...if that's possible...this kid loves showers now!! Even if he's had a bath earlier in the day, if one of us is in the shower then he is getting in...no questions asked!! Can you see ribs on my skinny boy....no way!

jealous...

So, go ahead...tell me your not jealous that this bill did not come to your house...

Jealous..
(I can hear my friend Melanie saying this in her Saturday Night Live voice..Amber?)
and yes, the bill has already been fixed..for the most part:)

Fun, fun, fun

It was a whirlwind time when Aric and Amber were here, but we enjoyed every minute of it!!!

Someone was always taking one for the team and entertaining the kiddos...
This was the group shot of the kids...this was the only one we managed to get..and what a great pic huh!!!

Love it!
Sweet Kirkley!

Breakfast on the deck..and a little Play Doh afterwards

Okay, I don't remember my parents setting up tents for us in the living room..not that I am bitter or anything!

I think that everyone but Charlie and maybe Brady slept in there!

Who told them they were old enough to toss out a peace sign????...

The boys setting up the tent

Love her face in this picture!

The boys eating what appear to be smores!!

Love this picture of mom and Kirkley!

Sage, Charlie and Noah..with their critter cages....Charlie thought catching the bugs in those cages was about the coolest thing ever!

The big girls and Kirkley..notice how I "glow" when I don't have any make up on..I don't think that's the "glow" you are supposed to shoot for...

LOVE IT!!!!

How did I manage to only get pictures with her makeup free??? I guess I should apply makeup on days other then Sunday then....

Check out her foot...I see gymnastics in her future!!

'baby cow"

Charlie is officially obsessed with all "baby" animals..before you assume it's cause were always talking about babies..that's not the case! He just loves everything baby right now...especially baby cows. Bradley took him on a walk on Sat while I worked and they saw a baby cow, baby duck and baby snake..it is all he has talked about since! We went walking again today and he called for that baby cow for the entire 55 min we were out there. I found some other cows and took him to see them and lucky for me he was to exited to notice there was no baby with them....lucky me!

Give the kid some rocks and an occasional cow, bird and squirrel and were set!!

Silly Daddy

This is what happens when Daddy is in charge....

It's not marker time in our house unless it's in his mouth..

The funnest..come on, that is so a word...part is how much fun Bradley has..he is such a little kid in a adult body!! Charlie is lucky to have a daddy as fun as him!
and yes, the markers came off Charlie without a problem..and even more importantly..it came off my tub too!!!

It's about time!

After 6 summers at our home..with every one of them having access to our community pool...we finally visited the pool today!!!! We got there early to beat the crowd.. and that translates to the pool being freezing!!!! But now we can say we have been there..and that our homeowner association money is finally being put to good use!! Might I add that in the 4 days since swim lessons have been over, he has completely forgotten everything!! I am sure (secretly praying) that once he gets comfortable there, it will all come back...

Our Monday visit..

On Monday we headed out to Abilene for a visit with the bio's (thanks Amber for the shortened name..biological parents=bio's). I always get anxious before visits, but this time I never really got nervous...I am making progress!! I suggested we meet at a park and that was a good plan for Charlie...especially since he refused his morning nap on the drive down there! When we got there.. 18 people were waiting, which meant I won the bet with Bradley. I guessed 16 people would be there and he thought I way overshot..boys! So, with 18 eyes on you, he was naturally a bit shy at first. But it did not take long to realize it was "all about him" and we was "on"!!

It was a joint visit with both bio's and it was nice that we could all get together and it was not to weird! All the grandparents were super nice and appreciative and all said what a great job we were doing and that they respected us for bring him for visits...and understood it was overwhelming! Honestly, bringing him for visits has nothing to do with us..a lot of people will tell us "how nice we are" for taking him to visit them. We are doing what we feel is best for our son..and that is no different then anyone else....when it comes down to it, we all want to do what is best for our kids. Having Charlie see the bios and all their families and all the love that is there for him is what is best for him so we will continue to do that for him.

I was trying to get Charlie ready for the visit since this would be the first one where he understood a little more. Every night we pray for his bio's, so I said "You remember how we pray for M and C every night" he calls them by their names though:) . I told him we were gonna visit them and reminded him how he grew in C's tummy, and that she was to young to be his mommy so she chose us to be his mommy and daddy. He looked up at me like Yeah, I got this..we cover it all the time! Who knows how much he is taking in, but he sure has been told all about it!!

I think I managed to get about 75 pictures today..I wont subject you to all of them!! For the first time ever I found myself wanting to take a picture of him with everyone there..yes, even that sister..who was great today. I am finally making this a little less about me and wanting it to be all about him..and him having tons of pictures from today seems like a good thing..so I snapped away...and enjoyed it,..who knew!

When he hangs like this, his needs a shirt that says" I am way to cool"

Yes, all those people were there for him...and he knew it and worked the crowd!!

There were a minimum of 17 cameras on him at any given time!

Playing with M!

C and Charlie..talked to C today and learned that Charlie can thank her for the food and other allergies!! I just found out that she is allergic to peanuts too!! These little tid bits are so helpful and useful..like being able to tell the Dr that his bio's are allergic to certain vaccinations..helpful!

Seriously Charlie..everyone is looking but him! Can you tell he was playing hard..he ran full on from 11:30 till 2:45...I think I heard about 320 times "He will sleep great on the way home"...

M and Charlie

I took this one and think it turned out pretty cool!! That's C and her mom, sisters, nephew and Charlie.
To bribe him for pictures I offered Cheetos...which he never knew existed until Caddo..thanks Janet!!! As soon as we got in the car he was begging for them. I gave him that and his drink and waited for silence to come..and waited..and waited..and I gave up on that as I pulled into the driveway 2 hours later. It's now almost 7 and he is in the bath and getting ready for bed...with no nap under his belt for the day. In some people's world that means a awesome night sleep..not in ours..
