nothing much..

I realized when I went to do my January page in Shutterfly that I have not taken any photos this month..by any..like 10. So, I have had the camera out at all times yesterday and today! Bradley was mid sentence..but I LOVE Charlie in this one!!
He loves the park..more specifically..the Ducks!!!!

Home study date!

I got a call last night from our caseworker that will be doing our home study. I have never met her before, but she seemed so nice over the phone and super easy to talk to! Which will be nice when she comes and hangs out at our house for 2 hours! I guess everything is still lining up for us to be "available" to birth moms by March!

I kinda love this part of the home study..I get in full fledged OCD mode and everything that has needed to be done for some time will get done in the next 2 weeks..I am finishing up Charlie's new room today..hopefully. I guess I can tell I am getting older by how long my projects are taking me now. I used to start one and not do anything else until it was done...this one will be three weeks before it's almost done! I guess things take longer when you can only work during nap time..and when the work needing to be done is in the nap room..you can see why this is taking forever!

The transition to the big boy bed has been great! We did one week of just testing it out and then I decided to go full force into new bed. A lot of people told me that their kids were old enough to understand moving into a big bed so they had no problems. I decided last Tues was the day of no more crib..so before bed I just talked to him and explained what was going on..in words a 17 month old can get...he slept all night! I am such a dork that I never thought to talk to him like a big kid..he has done awesome since!

So, I am behind on blogging...I think I always am this time of year. I get tired and then I find myself a little overwhelmed at all the thing I need to do and feel bad sitting at the computer and not doing adoption stuff.

Charlie got sick again..I know, so surprising...and so we have not slept through the night for over a week now. I am cool with getting up every night..even a few times a night..if I am getting up with a newborn! But I was stupidly thinking that with a 17 month old I would get to sleep through the night!

I took advantage of the bad sleeping and went ahead and started putting him in his big boy bed..if he is already sleeping bad, what harm can it do!! He is actually doing better at night then at naps. Any helpful hints to transition well would be GREATLY appreciated!!

I feel the need to preface thees videos and say that I only put this Beyonce song on my IPOD for work out purposes..I feel slimy that you all know I let him listen to something other then Veggie Tales!! Anyway, only family will have the desire to watch all three..cause there almost the same, but he sure does crack me up with his dancing!! Enjoy!!

I was able to multi tasks while blogging and actually got some work done on my adoption photo album..go me!

So, I have issues..

Christmas break around our house was not real relaxing because we we getting all of our projects done! We are trying to get as ready for #2 as possible. With Charlie there was only 2 weeks from when we got the call until he was home with us and since we have Charlie this time around I just am not as confident that I can get as much done in 2 weeks this time. Although, since we are getting ready you know that means we will get picked by a birth mom who has like 3 months till delivery!

That was always a prayer when we were waiting on charlie..that we did not have to wait long from when we got picked until the delivery..I think I remember saying I would love a 2 week wait! As stressful that 2 week wait was for us and how little sleep I got..I would love another short 2 week wait.

Anyway, we got a lot done on Charlie's big boy room and we decided to leave the nursery a nursery..so hopefully before # 2 gets here he will be almost transitioned to his big boy bed..if not I guess we will be getting another crib! We also got to cleaning out the WHOLE house. Our guest room was our place where were we stored all our extra stuff..so needless to say there was lots of rearranging and re-organizing. In the process I found this item...


Wanna know how old this is...13 years old. It is from mine and Bradley's Valentines Date from when we were 15....yes, I am aware what this makes me look like!! I saved everything he touched our gave me from when we dated almost 15 years ago. I threw almost all of it away except for the letters, but you should have seen Bradley's face when I showed him this and explained what it was...he so had that "Bless her heart face"!!!!!!!

So, as far as the adoption stuff stands I heard from our caseworker yesterday and all we are waiting on to do the home study is our finger print clearance from the FBI. She said since it was our second adoption and shes pretty sure were not criminals that we may be able to proceed with the home study and just wait for the fingerprint clearance to make it all official. I also thought we were not going to have get our 6 hours of parenting classes since we just took them 16 months ago, but she thinks now we may have to do them. So pretty much no chance of a repeat from our first adoption..meaning that we probably wont get chosen as quickly as we did with Charlie this time around..no biggies though. We got pick on the same day as our approval last time and the chance of that happening again are like almost slim to nothing..but a girl can dream right!

I am hoping that by March we will be available birth moms in the book and on the Internet....I think that is realistic, but who knows. I am okay with waiting..it just gives Charlie time to get a little older..I just want to be done with the paperwork and interview parts!

Update

For all those that have been griping that I have been slacking on blogging..this is why! I sat down for 10 min to blog and I come out and there are Kleenex all over my house. Sweet child is tall enough to open any drawer and pull anything out..the joys of parenting!!!...and yes, he was running from me in this picture..not because the camera was out, but because he knew he was in trouble!

Playing with our food...

At dinner last week we had one of those meals where we are on our 5th food item and he was not having ANY of them...those meals wear me out! We gave him our regular food, then busted out more fruit and veggies, then a frozen meal, then as a last hope I busted out a corn dog! He had no part in that either, but he had too much fun playing with it..what a bad habit to teach him! At the end of the meal I sucked it up and gave him yogurt..a for sure thing at any meal..that he gets way to much of..if that is possible!!
