I do love this.  I cherish the pictures I have of Bradley and East because routine just usually has me with Easton and Bradley with Charlie...yes, I often call him East.  It would have never happened if I would have kept my mouth shut about how I feel about nick-names..I curse my self.  I sometimes even call him East-ee and East-ee the beast-ee....lord help me:)

Katie's sleep over

We were supposed to head out to go camping last weekend, but with the weather the way it was..we opted to stay home!  Katie ended up staying the night and we all went to see Megamind..which I thoroughly enjoyed!  The next morning I asked Kate what her favorite meal was and she asked for waffles/pancakes.  I told her that I'd make hers plain this time, but she said she was okay with colored food now!!  Be still my heart!  So, rainbow swirled waffles were served and were a hit!!

And since she played Dinosaurs with Charlie all morning long I felt she had more then earned a manicure..so off we went!  I thought hers turned out super cute!..and it cracked me up that she had me send pictures to her sister who was at the deer lease....she just wanted to rub it in share the fun with Addison!

PS..Sage, when I made these waffles, I immediately thought they would have been perfect for you since they were soooo bright and colorful:) Love you sweetie!!

So, we got some more learning to do!!!!

We found a new great park with a huge and long nature walk..we really enjoyed it!  And clearly we have not mastered all our tracking skills, so I guess we will head back soon!!

We snapped some pics of the boys while we were at the park Saturday and I love this picture..he is smiling here..not about to cry!  And yes, he can sit now..guess I just have to blog about it to get him to do it:)..so, in that case..Easton, start babbling and talking soon dude!!

Just to clarify..I can't seem to get the bigger boys to smile "good" for the camera to save my life...but when I am at work and they are playing together, they will smile and have fun with the camera and self timer....whats wrong with this picture????:)

Bat Cake

I saw a recipe on one of the food blogs that I follow for a bat cake..and it involved dying your icing, so I was in!  When the blogs do the step by step, how to's..it's to easy sometimes to not do it!!  Anyway, I had planned to make this cake on Halloween..but we know how that day went..so I made it on Tuesday.  I figured Charlie had no idea that I should be making a turkey shaped cake this months instead of a bat cake, and he was who I was making it for anyway!  Needless to say, he thought it was the greatest cake!..and I thought it tasted AWESOME!!  The bat is just a 9 inch cake pan cut in half, so there was not a lot of cake, but since I leave for vacation that involves a swimsuit soon, we shared 3/4 of it with my sister-in-law...Charlie was less then thrilled to share his cake, downright angry is more like it!  I had sent off the cake to share before I had tried it..and that was a good thing.  If I had tried it first then I would have for sure saved us more then 1/2 a wing!!

So excited!...can you tell we let him choose his PJ's..someones ready for Christmas!!

Close up..as soon as I started icing the head I could tell it was going to crack in half...and all my attempts to save it were futile....I added the large tongue to try to cover the broken face...other then the face cracking into..super simple cake!!

Our week

This about sums up our week..Easton felt like poo and Charlie couldn't keep his hands where they belonged....

only fitting

Its only fitting that after that last post,I follow up with this..last night the boys and I were at home by ourselves.  I saw a lizard run across the floor and instantly took the cup I my hand and slammed it down over the lizard..I figured Bradley could deal with it when he got home..I hate to be that person and if I had to remove it up I could, I just chose not to:)

Later, Charlie saw the cup and picked it up on the way to bed.and it did not run off...I may have broken its neck when I slammed the cup down...  So I did the only thing I knew to do..place the cup back on top of it and go on to bed:)

A few weeks back Charlie was at my brother and sister in laws house and the kids found a gecko outside.  The kids were taking their turns holding the gecko.  When it came to Charlie's turn my oldest niece, Addison, turned to me and casually said "He needs to spend more time with his Daddy"!!!

I laughed and then agreed..I try not to be girly about bugs/animals/insects...and I think do good..till they move..then I am OUT!!  Well, it appears I am passing that on...maybe was passing that on..this is from a recent zoo trip...we are making progress.  Not just cause he is holding it, but because it moved a lot.  At least it did at the beginning...:)

This outfit cracks me up..I bought it because the watch on the sleeve cracked me up and I loved the tie..but the saying..well, that's not Easton.  Like I have said a million times before..laid.back.kid.  We have one kid who thinks he runs the show and that is sufficient!!  But this week..when little man has been sick..well, he was running the show!

I guess everyone gets their turn..right!!

Oh how I look forward to the cooler weather..for one big reason right now...I love to wear my babies, but I have not really gotten to wear Easton a whole lot.  He is SUPER hot natured and that in combination with Texas heat made wearing him not an option.  Now that it has cooled off and he is loving it!!!!

how important is sitting, really?

How important is sitting really?  Is it a mandatory milestone??..because we just may be in trouble...7 months and were still not sitting.  I just keep repeating "Every child is different"..over and over!!

Holy Cow..I am in bright food color Heaven!!  We seriously have about 25 baggies of frozen baby food in the freezer...I.must.stop.now!!!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween did not go quite as we expected this year, but we still each got some candy, so overall were good!  We did our church funnival on Saturday night and it was a lot of fun..we had the BUSIEST day around our house that afternoon, so it was nice to get there and plant my booty in my trunk:)  We left a little early cause Easton did not act like he was feeling great..we got home and found him with a temp of 102.4...nice:(  The next morning it was 104 and there was green snot EVERYWHERE! 

 We went to our Dr at 10 and after 2 hrs they sent us next door to Cooks Urgent care and we were there for 5 hours.  At 10 pm, Easton was worse not better so per their recommendations we headed to Cooks ER and got home at 2am...Happy Freakin Halloween:)  We know that it is not RSV, Flu, Pneumonia or Urinary tract infection..but his blood work says there is some infection...somewhere.  At the first Dr his ear was slightly pink, but not worthy of treating..at the second Dr it was a little red, but not bad..at the last it was pretty infected in both and worthy of treating. 

 Who knows if that was all.. but, after 6 sticks, one cath and 2 nasal washings..you better have a really good reason to come at my baby with something else.  The poor 2am nurse finally got the best of me and was told that she was done touching my baby and to kindly back away from him.  I get it..I am a nurse..but enough was enough.  I warned Bradley as we headed to the ER that I was about "this close to going all Danny Bramlett on someone"..and that poor nurse was one of many who made me feel dumb...

I never pulled the nurse card, because I know its annoying, but really....she taught me the "right way" to use the bulb suction on my baby's nose??  As a NICU nurse, I think I am pretty screwed if I didn't have that already figured out.  Bradley attempted to give  her the benefit of the doubt.."she doesn't know your a nurse". I get that, but when asked why I thought his breathing was labored I told them that he had started pulling and retracting..she had me explain??  So, I elaborated that he had subcostal, intercostal and substernal retractions...she knew I was not "just" a mom..so, yes, I was thoroughly offend by her" step by step, bulb syringe how to"..okay, I feel better now!!

Easton is better and that is all that matters!!  Now, onto Halloween pics of the sweetest Lion and T-Rex!!:)

I was the Zoo Keeper and my trunk was his cage/living area?? 

 We went to the zoo this week so I attempted to decorate my trunk like the Lions living quarters..it was close enough!

 This was the only one I got of the boys together:(

Presley showed up in her Elephant costume so we tossed her into the trunk for a while since she fit our theme!!

This was right before we left and we were thinking he wasn't feeling good..I just assumed the Lion outfit had beat him down..poor baby:(

I have no idea was this was about..but it made me laugh!

The head was scratching his face..so he was headless most of the night.
