Sleepover and sponge rollers!

On Sat night Addison and Katie spent the night and I had a moment of .."What was I thinking"..Bradley is gone which meant it was up to me to get all FOUR of us to church..on time!! Happy to report we were ready 20 min early, but managed to get to church just on time..the real on time, not 10 min late!

Last night we swung by Target on the way home and got some sponge rollers! I asked the girls if they wanted to put pink rollers in their hair and they did not know what I was talking about...how is that! When I was little I thought that was what most people just did on Sat night..me excluded, my hair was to thin and never looked "cute" in them!

They had a blast with them and woke up bright and early to check out their hair....it was a lot more curl then I was anticipating, but we tamed it..a little!!

I was just super impressed that I had all the kids fed and dressed by church that I had to snap a pic!!
Addison's curls were not quiet so "Shirley Temple" this morning, but she was shaking her head and flinging all the curls every where after church and I think a lot of the 50 bobby pins dislodged and there were curls everywhere!

Katie Lou..her hair is more like mine and there were a lot of "dead" spots in her hair..but strangly enough I managed to curl some on my own with my flat iron!

Hope your weekends were as exciting as mine...a Chucky Cheese B-day party and sponge rollers..I don't know, it's gonna be tough to beat that!

Roll call!

Charlie has taken to sometimes calling me Amie and calling Bradley by his name..we have to remind him occasionally that our names are actually mommy and daddy!! You can never get him to say what you want him to say right off the bat..so I really just wanted to get him saying Amie and in the second video I was trying to get his Hawk noise on video...I had another one where he was saying Papa and Libby..which sound so cute, but he threw a tantrum at the end and I figured you guys could do without that!

Red day!

Were not real big Valentines Day people around here and so I was super excited to start a Valentines Day tradition last year with The Brooms. I love that the kids are included and a big part of the meal..but there was mention of babysitters for next year!!! We had a great red meal..twice baked spaghetti, "love potion" drinks (sprite and food coloring) and red sugar cookies with pink icing!! I intended to make pink homemade bread to go with it, but since I worked that day Albertsons provided our bread!

Notice who's child is not listening and not sitting!

Cassidee and Cason were laying down and Kendra told Charlie to lay down with them...he's a genius!!

There ya go!

He does not get cookies often and he was in heaven with a cookie and icing, and he is his fathers child.."Bite, milk please"..5 seconds later.."Bite, milk please"..repeat x5:)

One step closer

The homestudy is done and went great. It was simple compared to last time! Our new caseworker was great and super nice and she gave us lots of insight and information. Our next step is our approval letter and into the book. The Internet make take additional days or weeks to get on. She once again said she did not think it would be to long of a wait, but you never know what that means exactly. The normal wait is 12-18 months from when we get our approval, so a short wait may mean 6 months..who knows!

so now we wait..and pray!!

Today's the day

Today is the day for our home study and we are way more relaxed this time around and are looking forward to meeting a new caseworker. Thanks to mom and Christy for helping me get the house in order and ready for today..and thanks to everyone one else who offered to help!

We decided that everyone needed to do their part..so in true good parenting form...

Our little man was working hard!!
Blurry, but I still love his face!!
Were hoping that if all goes great today then we may be available to birth moms by Monday..sweet!!
*****Just wanted to thank Maddie for the new header..she is making us all look bad by being so productive on her maternity leave!!****

Charlie's new room

So, can I get a collective AMEN..thank goodness this project is behind me. I actually did not intend to put much effort into the room..sorry Charlie! We plan to move in the near future and I did not want to paint the walls and fix it all up, just to move and redo it. So all we did was buy a comforter..everything was staying as is or was moved from another room in the house. In the picture below...the wall did not start off with that paint job..can we leave it at that! I covered up a mistake the best/fastest way..not great for re-sale, but I am guessing they will repaint anyway! There seemed to be one little glitch after another..but it's done!!

He loves his bed and has done so great in it! In hindsight, I wished we would have moved him sooner, he is WAY happier in his new bed.
I am a bad mom...I am not a fan of kiddie things..I am sure that as he grows up and loves certain things, then I will love them cause he does. Well, right now he is not partial to anything and I don't love kid designs so this was as close to kiddie as it came. The room was a great color to do a camo theme, but I was camo'd out....

I bought new letters and painted them black..I couldn't bear to cover up his letters that Linde
made for him. Those are still in the nursery and will come down when the next one gets here..and make their way into some kind of hope chest.

All this stuff came from the nursery to his new room...he can name his cousins by name when you point to the pictures and he always says Romo when he sees the soccer ball...were still working on teaching him that every athlete/athletic item is not Romo.

Granner made all the great grand kids pillow cases at Christmas....I always love anything that has his name on it. I was trying to snap a picture and he was "hiding" from me!

I wanted Bradley to build me a big cubby for this wall..the minute that he found out Lowe's, Home Depot and Target made them..he was out on building a cubby. He is still building me a toy box though......someday!! I liked the look of the larger cubby, but technically I don't need all 4 cubes now..it can grow as his junk/toys grow.

He got these for his birthday and they go great with the outdoor/woodsy/lodge theme..the duck is by far the favorite!
Oh, I did have to buy curtains also..actually I made these..do not look to close! Once again...no cutsie stuff appealed to me..I threw on a monogram to "kid it up" a little. That was my theme phrase for his room.."Help me kid it up some"

Mutti got this for us this Christmas and it matches great..I wanted camo fillers for the room, without dunking you in camo the minute you walk in the room!

and last...what kid room is complete without dead animals..it went with the lodge theme. Plus, no extra cost..I just kept yelling "Bring me a deer head from the office..now a deer skin"...classy!!

Next to the deer skin is a wooden bow that Bradley made...Bradley is the bow hunter and I "cheat"and use a gun! In case you were curious..all those dead animals are brought to you courtesy of me!!! (don't judge me, it was my first buck..and its a 9..look closely!)
