Charlie has been sickly this weekend so today we headed to the park so we could get some time in outside. We fed the ducks our leftover tortillas and they were a huge hit! Charlie was giving them to the ducks and getting nipped on the fingers and never cared until I got nipped and jump and squealed...it was a little squeal, but it caught us both off guard! After that he was okay with just looking at them and of course saying "Quack, Quack", over and over and over....!!!

at least he is clean...
I think we all have those things we say we will or wont do before we have kids...Mine was I will always bathe them everyday and they will always smell good. Baths and good smelling kids were always huge to me. Needless to say I can remember asking Bradley one time when his last bath was and neither one of us could remember..at least then I think he was to little to be getting really dirty!! I think Charlie is usually a good smelling clean kid, but lately he is up to sometimes 3 baths/showers a day. We have hit that age where he gets dirty and actually needs a bath..to get clean..not to just smell good!! Bath time and Showers time are a big hit around here so I grabbed some quick pictures last week.
I thought I'd upload them now so I can take a break from writing my "Spiritual Development Plan" as part of our adoption paperwork. I was hoping to be done by November with paperwork..but I have been able to shut the office door to easily this time and just avoid the paperwork...anyone want to write my autobiography and birth mother letter if I cannot find the old copies!!!

Catch up!
So, this will be quick hopefully..since I am at work. Our computer has another virus and I am thinking this time it may be time for another computer...but when your buying a baby, all other things get pushed to the side..computer, carpet, etc!
So, we did the embryo adoption. We kept it on the down low and I had great hopes for the big reveal of great news...but unfortunately that did not happen. It was a pretty uneventful IVF cycle..I had like 5 Dr appointments total over 7 weeks, 4 sonograms total including the transfer and mock transfer, and only 2 blood draws. So, compared to my last IVF's this was like a piece of cake!! We chose 2 excellent embryos and after they thawed on was still excellent and one was good. Overall, everyone was happy with the quality.
It did not work and while I was frustrated that we were going to have to come up with the money for infant adoption I felt at peace that this was where we were supposed to be. After the transfer I had a moment and suddenly panicked..there were white babies in me! I hope this offends no one, but I suddenly realized that it was important to me to give it a good effort to have my second child be of mixed descent. That is all PC speak for...I don't want Charlie to be the only one in our family who is not all white..not that I care, but some day he may. So we have put our preference with our agency for a mixed baby. We have told them that we wont turn down a baby who is not mixed African American, but that is our preference.
I have no anger or frustration with my cycle. For me and Bradley..this is where we are supposed to be. We both feel that pregnancy is not our thing and with my knowledge, my NICU experience and my body, I doubt it would ever be a time of anything but lots of stress. We are done with all things fertility and I am asking my OB about tying my tubes..were really done with that avenue!!
So, we are back on track with Christan Homes..hopefully!! We really want to work with them and we are trying to work out a "repeat customer discount"!! I am feeling like working with Christian Homes will work out so I have begun working on my paperwork. If my computer at home perks up I will include pictures next time. The stack was almost 3 inches thick and I now have piles all over the office with labels..completed, in progress, take when we make Dr apt, take to Charlies Dr..etc. My hope..unrealistic or not..is to be done with all this paperwork by the end of the year. I just hate having it all hanging over my head.
I have no goals or time lines on how and when we get a child..God's time is perfect. Some people have had opinions about our adopting again "so quickly"....I love you, but we don't need to hear that!! Bradley and I decided what is best for our family and we will do our part so that when God is ready it will fall into place. No one but us understands the fear we have about growing our family..our family, so we know best!!!...that is to be heard with sweetness not sassiness (sp)!!
So, there it is..and I know it may be anywhere from 6 month to 2 years before we get another baby..but we are so excited to be here doing this again!!!!

Pink is manly..right
Charlie loves Libby's blanket..her pink blanket!! When she feel asleep he made the switch and gave her his blue blanket and took her pink one..little stinker! I feel the need to add on that we only suck our thumb when we fall asleep..I am planning to do a post this weekend to get everyone caught up on the embryo adoption and our plans with infant adoption. I will do that post in between my painting...I got a wild hair yesterday and decided that my kitchen and den need to be re-painted. As I woke up today with this task in front of me, I am thinking I may have made a bad decision!!
