Easter..part 2

Please excuse the fuzzy pictures..my camera was on a weird setting and I waited entirely to long to figure that out and change it!  We did a simple get together at my parents house..we had all been super busy that weekend so we all skipped the cooking and just grabbed our own fast food and headed over to do a quick egg hunt before Adam and Christy had to move on to their next stop!  Nothing screams Easter like Chicken Express!!
Charlie was totally into egg hunting..

until he announced he was tired..after 35seconds of egg hunting.  He sat down and dumped all his eggs out.  My brother Adam may have called him a drama queen and I may have said he gets that from his father....We may have then went on to discuss his great future in drama.and dance!!:)

Everyone kept bringing eggs to Easton..that's right, lets not encourage the 30lb baby to move around more.  Y'all, he is not close at all to walking and my arm.is.killing.me.all.day.long.  He cant crawl forever, right????

Presley decided she was funny and set out to entertain us for a while!

..in case you missed the tiny mowhawk..

I thought this was such a great picture of my parents...have I mentioned they totally rock and that I LOVE them!!

while the egg hunt was going on, our tie-dyed eggs were cooking.  I thought this was super cool.. the idea was stolen from Our best bites.  You should totally do it next year!

and then someone fell asleep and I bolted home in hopes that we could all three get a nap..success!!!

We waited for Daddy to get home to do Easter baskets..not super easy to fill a basket without almost any candy, btw..  Charlie did love this toy I got from Canton for him.  I don't know what you call it, but when you squeeze his tummy he shoots balls out..big hit with a 3 yr old!

still on the wrong camera setting..

but how great is that smile..kiddo loves bubbles.  I blew them till I was light headed and then it was daddy's turn!

checking out his basket..

and deciding he'd rather eat his raisins then play...love my foodie!

and speaking of eating...while I was being an awesome parent and cleaning up the kitchen after basket time, Charlie managed to pour his bubble straight into his eyes and Easton ate his book...I am ready for my award at any time:)

Happy Easter!!

Easter was great..and kinda blur.  It was a busy weekend to say the least, but fun was had by all!!  Sunday morning I wanted to get some pictures of the kids before church...Bradley wasn't home this weekend, so I had to get the kids to cooperate and smile..all by myself..
you can see it started off well..
and was not headed in the right direction..

but with some stellar parenting..and maybe the promise of an Easter egg..

things turned around!!

Love pictures where they are smiling and laughing..at each other!
Love him!!!

Can you see worlds tiniest mowhawk?!?!
Things were going well, so I attempted to get a self portrait of all of us..

take one was not a success

neither was take two..but you get a close up of the mowhawk!
We decided to forgo the group photo and head to church...until I got in the car and realized we were almost early enough to swing by mom and dads!  Thanks mom and dad for taking photos and  letting me make you 5 minutes late for church!

There was a few more promises made about an egg before church and I managed to get some smiles!

But I am not sure I ever got one with all 3 of us smiling at the same time..

I guess this is the closest we got!
Hope your Easter was great!!:)

another craft project!

So, I have decided to run a half marathon..in Nov..and I have started training.  Most of you know that my husband has been busy for the last 2 1/2 years and will be for a while longer...so training/running involves help from my parents and in laws.  Occasionally I'll take the kids in the double stroller, but pushing 100lbs..even if it has wheels..does not make for a great run for me!  So, last week my mom watched the kids  4 evenings so I could run.
I saw a lamp at her house and ask her if I could redo it as a thanks for watching the kids that week.  I had a project in mind and I had everything that I needed on hand..those are the greatest!  Mom said to me "make sure you take a before picture" and I replied "I always do!"...and then forgot a before picture!
I did grab one of the lamp shade before I started!..Just imagine the base a bright gold!

This is the after..no matter how many pictures and different angles I take I cannot make it look like what it looks like in person...the lines are less subtle I guess.

Once again, cooler in person!  The idea came from this site..that I love.  I like theirs better, only cause I am still wanting to do something a blue/turquoise color.  Still haven't found a place where that color will match!

Zoo fun!

So, we were going to pass on the zoo membership this year.  I thought that Charlie would appreciate the zoo and all the animals if we took a year off.  I'm pretty sure he takes the zoo for granted ...since we have been going once a week for over a month now!  But then the playdates started getting planned and the zoo was involved in a lot of them..so, we got a zoo pass again!  We have been having a ball and leaning about some new animals that we have passed over previously:)
Cass, Charlie and Cason at the Komodo Dragon.  That afternoon when Charlie woke up from a nap he came and found me in the garage working on craft projects changing my oil.  When we were headed back inside he said "look mom, there is a baby Komodo Dragon" as he pointed to a small lizard!  I tried to inform him that it was just a lizard, but he insisted that it was a Komodo Dragon.  The worst part of that story..he occasionally calls me mom:(
He is learning there is swift punishment for that and he is working on it!!:)
At the beginning of the day I get Easton out to look at the animals..but half way through, I am tired and lifting his almost 30lb body is tiring. Since he sits happily and does not complain, I think this system just may work for us!!
We went last week with my work peeps Melanie and Abbe. Charlie has so much fun just playing with all the kiddos!  He remembers them from previous playdates so he thinks there old friends..who we just see a few times a year!

Look at that stance..I need a video of the "too cool for school" walk that goes with it...no clue where that came from:)

Were working on Charlie's shyness and fear of being front and center....it's a shame he is so quiet and closed off....sarcasm much:)

I sent Bradley this picture via text..cause I can..and I believe the words said something like.."guess who's not a wuss anymore."  It's my warm and fuzzy side that Bradley loves the most.

It's a shame this kid doesn't LOVE Cass!:)
It's a shame they cant get along!!

Goodness, I am one blessed mamma!

goodwill purchase

I have been wanting to go to Goodwill and find a small piece of furniture to redo..and I finally did.  I dropped Charlie and Bradley off at soccer practice the other night and right down the road is a Goodwill.  I ran in and saw this beauty..well, I was hoping she could be a beauty!  I had no idea where to put it, what to do with it..but I loved that hardware1  I really wanted to paint this a light turquoise or maybe a pale yellow, but Bradley was already less than thrilled that I bought it...so why make him hate it more by putting color on it!  I think I finished this in 3 1/2 naps..not bad!
I sanded, painted, sanded, distressed, stenciled and added some scrapbook paper..nothing big or hard.

The sides had messed up wood and instead of making my little project a big project, I opted to cover the majority of the bad wood with scrapbook paper as opposed to pulling out the bad sides and putting in new wood.
It turned out to be the kids "craft stuff" holder, so it didn't need to be perfect!

In addition to the kids "craft stuff holder", it often tends to be the "kid holder"....still think it would have been fun if it were turquoise.  Maybe another goodwill day in my future?!?!?

my bald beauty

So, I have the greatest one year old there is..there it's been said.  I know everyone thinks that their baby is the greatest, but trust me...I win.  Easton is my sweet, cuddly, sensitive, funny and charming boy..and finally and possibly, the most important.....HE IS A MAMMA'S BOY!!!!  Sweet, right...finally one prefers me!!  Although, big brother finally thinks I am as cool as daddy!!

come.on.
look at those lashes

the only unfortunate thing going on for East..his ears.  We meet with the ENT in a week and a half to get a surgery date for tubes..lets pray he can keep clean ears for that long!!

:)

OMGoodness..I love this sweet boy..and he is at an age where he is sooo fun.  He manages to make me smile, giggle, laugh, scream, threaten and smother him with kisses every day.  Three is for sure more challenging than 2, but dang, it's so much more fun too!!!
